Green tea from the Uji tea fields blended with ceremonial-grade Uji matcha.
About THE PRODUCT
Karigane is a type of Japanese green tea made primarily from the stems of high-quality tea leaves, particularly gyokuro or sencha. It is also known as kukicha (twig tea), though karigane specifically refers to kukicha made from premium teas. This tea has a toasty, chocolatey aroma. The first brew is nutty and sweet, with notes of cashew and hazelnut. It’s both refreshing and relaxing, with a sweet, nutty aftertaste. The second brew is milder, green and slightly citrusy. The first steep is the richest, but it offers three enjoyable brews. A great tea to enjoy alongside a meal. The liquor remains a brilliant green through all three brews.
